Serpentine Pavilion, London

The Serpentine Architecture Programme commissioned four architects to design a 25sqm Summer House. I went to have a look at one of these, the Serpentine Pavilion designed by Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG). It is designed to be an 'unzipped wall' that is transformed from straight line to three-dimensional space creating a dramatic structure with a café within and at night a space for performance artists.

Sagrada Família, Barcelona

Barcelona is home to at least three great Gaudí structures that I have had the pleasure to visit. One of these I consider to be Antoni Gaudí's masterpiece: The Sagrada Família Cathedral (which is still under construction, estimated to be complete in 2026, on the 100th anniversary of Gaudí's death). The cathedral offers a chance to see heaven on earth. I am not exaggerating when I say this!
