Pride matters

I usually go to Pride in London every year and certainly planned ahead to do so earlier in the year. 2018 is a World Cup year and the England football team were playing in the FIFA World Cup quarter final against Sweden on the same day as Pride in London. England have not done this well for a very long time so it created a dilemma. Although I am not a football fan I decided that the England football team were actually making history and I wanted to see it. The kick off was 3pm so I travelled into London to get a few shots of the parade spectators and then get back to watch the football. People were queuing up to get into pubs to watch it and in some cases buy tickets so I decided to get back home and cheer them on. I got the best of both worlds but vowed to get a lot more photography of next year's parade to make up for it.

I wasn't wrong in my choice of photographing the spectators. The parade is often too difficult to see and take photos of clearly and the spectators also dress up...so why not? Here are a few of the best.

I'll report back for next year.
